It's true, the kart track ain't goin anywhere! It's not for two months yet, surely you could do that a week later/before??

Once we have a date i'll make a booking. I assume everyone is happy with this choice?
Voted for a couple of dates, but I don't think I'd have a problem with too many of them anyhow. I don't think Halifax are playing anywhere near this area at that time (FA Cup not withstanding, but we'll have to win a game first).
Originally posted by jimslyp69I'm going to wait till we have 25 votes, if it is still numerically possible for two dates to win, then i'll wait longer, otherwise i'll organise things and send out a PM to everyone. You are added to the list of possibles though. 🙂
I'd like to come myself, but, I've stayed out of this up until now. Bit of a sheep. I'm easy whenever it happens, as long as it's a weekend. So when the dust settles, I'm up frit too.

Jesus, that sounds like some sort of sub-human race from an Orwellian novel.

Like I say - let me know plans and if I can make it I will be there, if it's the 19th though - have fun, and be sure to post a good account of it for us to read about afterwards!
Besides, if it's a success I'm sure there'll be more meets in the future
🙂
Originally posted by rhbWell everyone seems pretty up for it, assuming we get a good turn out i'll definately be willing to do another next year! We could make it the annual RHP knees up 🙂

GOOD MAN!!! We need someone on the inside 😀
First, it's not a dive, it's a clean and proper place, very nice (VERY nice) and a little hidden between the (nicely done up) council estates...at least I'm assuming they were what they were. The clientele on a Monday night was sparse, but quite approchable. Tonight, there were starting up a games night (chess, backgammon, that sort of thing) for the first time. We'll see how successful they are.
I was talking with the landlord as well, his name is Paul. He was showing me around the place. It is big enough to hold at least 25 people. I also saw the rooms above the flat. They are VERY nice, indeed. There are 4 rooms, 3 doubles and a twin, bathroom and shower with each of them. He charges £85 a night if anyone wants to crash there.
The pub is closed on a Saturday, which means that with a month's notice he can host the entire party. We have to pay a deposit (about £300) beforehand to hold the pub, but it is refundable if we drink the house down. Sharing the costs among 25 people isn't that bad, and if more people show up, the less the cost!
He said that he was willing to negotiate on things, so whoever is taking point on this, keep it in mind.
In short, based on my gut instinct, this is a good place to hold a party.
What say you all?
